Blueberries, nature’s antioxicant superfruit and Manitoba’s sweetest!
I get so excited each year when blueberry season rolls around and when it looks like its going to be a good year. This year was an exception, with a bumper crop like we haven’t seen for years. Picking a pail of blueberries was easy and some days I even got out twice for a double load. This picture was one of those double picking days.
Although our family likes to eat them au natural, I do make the odd blueberry pie (I’m not good at pastry) but most famous for my Blueberry Torte. I also have a great Bluebarb Jam recipe that I gave to our daughter-in-law and she did me the honors of produceing the lovely blue jars full. Yum. If you are intersted in my recipe for Bluebarb jam, just send me a message and I would be happy to share with you.
Hopefully I have enough blueberries in our freezer to get us thru the winter.
